So I recently lost my 'real' job and I'm hoping to use this time focus on more of my artsy ideas such as crafts and art and writing. I missed out on NaNoWriMo because of an Assassin's Creed addiction which has been basically satisfied so I'm going to attempt to buckle down and stuff. I found out that you can self publish through Amazon and I'm kind of really excited about that prospect so I'm going to try and work out all the kinks in my vampire novel because it is the most finished and I do love my main characters and so I feel I owe it to them to finish their story. Then I have a cool sci-fi / fantasy bit that I am really dying to get working on so hopefully I will be spending a lot of time writing.
oh and also shameless plug for my etsy stuff

Sidetracked ^_^
So I was going to stick to the Blood of Night stuff for the time being but I have this character from another story and I want to spit this all out while it's so fresh and buzzing around.
the story's working title is 'The Guardian' ... I'm not 100% on this title yet so don't get to attached it might change.
Kiani - age 22, white/blonde hair, 5'8"
In Kiani's world there is an Order, they consist of people who are called Cleansers, and Watchers (I will describe what they are in more detail later) Kiani was born to a female cleanser in the order, and showed talent in their craft, but she was never trained formerly. She has younger sister who she loses to these creatures called Devourers, and the order basically exist to 'fight' these creatures. So at sixteen, she lose her sister, demands to be train so she might save her, is denied her request and then she takes off on her own to become a summoner. A summoner is an illegal form of a cleanser, being caught practicing summoning is punishable by death. She ends up meeting up with an older man (who I haven't named yet) who has also left the order to become a summoner though he very stubbornly refuses to share his reason for doing so, he takes Kiani in and teaches her what she needs to know to be successful at summoning.
So this is just this little tidbit I wrote when coming up with some text for a friend, it's entirely possible it will change by the time the story is more developed
"My name is Kiani, no last name, summoners do not have a last name, no family, no friends, it isn't safe to have such things... well at least that's what I always believed, but then that damn kid showed up... Turner he changed everything.
I had no intention of being someone, of being important, all I wanted as to find my sister's soul and save her, that was it, but then Turner showed up. And right behind him were some of my least favorite people - cleansers and watchers- And I couldn't just leave him to them ... although I have since learned that the kid can take care of himself.
I had always been on their shit list, but now with Turner around I had moved up to priority numero uno, like I needed the extra stress in my life. I can't blame Turner though, he was okay with being alone, he would have left if I asked. That just made it worse though a kid like him on the run alone, besides the order had screwed me so what if I screwed them back.
So much work....extra work."
Also one more thing, Kiani is named after Michael Turner's character

And now I have to dash back to my 'real' job, see you all later

Change in plans
So I decided that I'm actually going to post my stories on Inkpop, there is nothing there yet and I will post a link as soon as I get up and running with that. However I fully intend to post fun facts about my characters, objects, places, as well as any news. There is also the possibility of one shots, side stories and other such non-sense, so any questions or feedback is more then welcome here.
The first Character I would like to introduce to you is Sang DeNuit
When you first meet Sang she's seventeen years old, and lives with her elder brother Savior on the outskirts of the village Akasa. She's very family focused, and does not care much for mingling with the people of the village. The older woman of the village worry about her lifestyle and since the death of her mother feel she lacks a feminine hand in life. Sang finds their attention a nuisance and tries to avoid them but that merely makes them feel as if their presence is more needed so it's a bit of a vicious circle. This makes it uncomfortable for her to be in village. Sang is a bit stubborn, but caring, she also tries very hard at everything she does.
Some Basic info
Hair : Golden Brown
Eyes : A deep green color
Height : 5'6"
Build : Athletic
I really hope as the story progress and you get to know Sang, Savior, and all their friends and enemies you get to care about them as much as I do.

Chapter 1 - Broken Family
Sang could barely breath, she could not move, she could not even feel her body; all she could do was see and hear. Hear the terrible screams of her sister in fear, probably in pain as well.
She knew where she was, and roughly when it was, but there was a slight haze that confused her focus. She was vaguely aware that she was trapped on the floor by her bed, and a man or something resembling a man held her sister captive just a few feet from her. She focused on him, he was tall and wearing a black hooded cape; there would be no way to put a name to him. She could just make out the rough movements of her sister fighting with him, trying futilely to break free from his grasp. They were both screaming back and forth, her sister for help and for him to stop, he in return screamed for her shut up. It was an argument Sang knew would not end well for one or both of the participants.
Sang tried to move her fingers if she could just get them to move she might be able to do something, but her body failed to respond. A small silver knife lay not far from her, she had just managed to reach for it before she found herself pinned down. It had slipped out of her grasp as her hand hit wood and now laid a hair's breath from her fingertips. The blade would not be deadly to the creature, but it could slow him down and give her sister a chance at escape, all Sang had to do was move.
Through the screams Sang heard a sudden pounding at her bedroom door to her right, just at the edge of her sight. It was Savior, her brother, it had to be, there was no one else, and he would have come running the instant he heard all the noise. After what seemed to Sang like eternity, the door gave way to his persistence and he came stumbling into the dark room. He looked to Sang for only a moment and then headed straight for the monster.
Savior made an attempt to separate the night stalker from his sister but was, without hesitation, pushed away. The aggressive exchange, accented by the creature's angry hiss, resulted in Savior connecting brutally with the wall opposite. Savior instantly bounced back onto his feet ready to make a second attempt at the dark beast. Tears rolled down Sang's face as she watched on helplessly, being trapped by some sort of sorcery.
Apparently the brute did not want a real fight with Savior, for he grabbed their sister and, before Savior could so much as blink, was out the window and running into the night. Savior slammed into the windowsill as he attempted to stop them, barely stopping himself from falling out, but he could only just make out the figures of the barbarian and his stolen sister as they disappear into the nearby woods and then nothing.
He turned around to face Sang, who was beginning to regain her senses. Pain was crawling into her skin, her back, neck, and head. Her hand that she had been striving so hard to move slid forward and into the knife, leaving a thin line of blood on her fingers. Savior sagged against the opposite wall as he watched her.
“How many members of my family must I lose to those monsters?” He whispered, not expecting an answer.

My 'Grand' Idea
I have written stories for a quite a long time now, on scrap paper, in notebooks, on my grandmother's old computer, on my grandfather's old typewriter (which I still have and love but have not used in a while now), on my computer, and on various other substrates. The stories have come in chunks and pieces with purpose or with random sparks of inspiration through out my life and I have always longed to share them. Recently in college I took a fiction writing course and loved being able to share my stories with others and talk about my characters and ideas, when I graduated with my wonderful Graphic Design degree I figured I wanted more. I searched the web and books for info on getting my stories published and while it's not impossible it appears to be very hard to do so without money or connections neither of which I really have. So I have decided to take a page out of the webcomic's book and go straight to the reader's with my stories for free. I do hope one day that I can publish some of my work for I believe there is nothing quite like a good book but until that day comes I will put it all here.
The first story I wish to share with you is titled Blood of Night, it's a vampire story aimed for young adults. I do want to mention about this story that it was once called Blood of Death, and I was using the pen name Ris Night, there are a few people who have encounter the story this way and I would like to say I hope they enjoy the newer version of it, and I apologize to those from Anime Boston who were expecting to see more and have not yet received it I still have all the codes from the giveaway so feel free to send them to IronwingsStudio@yahoo.com and I will contact you.
My aim for this story is to add a post with a portion of story every Sunday, then art inspired by the story or news on every Wednesday, and then answer questions on Fridays. Which means feel free to ask my anything but know I'm at my leisure to answer, and if you send me some fan-art I will be more than happy to share it as long as it's appropriate.
I believe that is everything for the time being, oh just one more thing my great writing weakness is my grammar so please bare with me on that one.
Thank you and enjoy,
S.E.Canesi
